Briefing

A Festival, and a Journey

The festival has begun. Dicaeopolis and his family watch the great procession climb to the temple, where the priest waits at the altar and the herald calls for silence. But the day ends badly: Philip is hurt and can no longer see.

A doctor in Athens cannot cure him. Only the god Asclepius at Epidaurus can help, so father and son set off for the harbour at Piraeus to find a ship. Seven puzzles in Ancient Greek stand in their way. Solve them all, and one last word tells you what Philip needs most.

5

6

Odd One Out — find the word that doesn't belong in each row to build the story, then answer questions about it.

7

Typing Greek: use the Greek keyboard that appears at the bottom of the screen, or type on your own keyboard in English letters and they turn into Greek (a→α, b→β, g→γ, d→δ, e→ε, z→ζ, h→η, q→θ, i→ι, k→κ, l→λ, m→μ, n→ν, c→ξ, o→ο, p→π, r→ρ, s→σ, t→τ, u→υ, f→φ, x→χ, y→ψ, w→ω).
