Briefing

Three and Four Times Blessed

Juno has bribed Aeolus to let loose the winds. Suddenly the clouds snatch sky and daylight from the Trojans' eyes, the heavens thunder and the air flashes with fire. Aeneas' limbs go slack with cold, and stretching his hands to the stars he cries that those who died beneath the walls of Troy were three and four times blessed.

The survivors are washed up in Africa, and Aeneas, hidden in a cloud, waits in Carthage at Juno's great temple. Then the queen arrives: Dido, as lovely as Diana leading her dancers. Solve seven puzzles from both passages, and the last word names her.
