Locked Lessons

How it works

  1. Pick a room for your class's level and the time of year.
  2. Share the link โ€“ students open it on any Chromebook, laptop or tablet. No accounts, no app.
  3. They work through the locks โ€“ puzzles on vocabulary, grammar and reading, each unlocking the next part of the story. Each student gets the locks in their own order, so there is no copying a neighbour.
  4. Every lock checks itself, so you can circulate and help rather than mark.

Questions

What is a digital escape room?

A set of puzzles, or locks, that students solve in the browser to escape a story. Each lock checks itself, so students know at once when they are right, and the next lock opens.

Which subjects are there?

Latin, with rooms for Latin I to IV. English, French and Greek are coming soon: tell us what you would like through the Suggest a room page.

Do students need accounts?

No. Students open a link on any Chromebook, laptop or tablet and start. Nothing to install and no logins.

How long does a room take?

Roughly one lesson, 40 to 60 minutes, depending on the class. Progress is saved in the student's browser, so a room can be finished next lesson.
