The Cloud over Vesuvius

Nūbēs Inūsitāta

A cloud of strange size and shape rises over the mountain across the bay, and the elder Pliny, admiral of the fleet at Misenum, sails straight towards it: first out of curiosity, then to rescue the people on the shore. His nephew tells Tacitus how he died at Stabiae.
